Mu Theta is a dynamic chapter with many accomplishments to its credit. Our board has developed a 5-year strategic plan. Our goals include increasing membership involvement, supporting research activities, encouraging leadership deve- lopment and fund-raising to promote scholarship. In addition, we are working to increase our chapter's visibility. If any of these areas are of interest to you and you can share your time and talent with us, please contact me.

As president, I welcome you to Mu Theta At Large, Northern New Jersey Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) Honor Society of Nursing; it will certainly be a privilege of serving this chapter and its members during the next two years with the assistance of our board and members.

Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) Honor Society of Nursing is like a tapestry, each thread distinct yet intertwined with its chapters to form a complete picture. If we stand too close, the image is lost and only the weave remains seen. When a thread is left out, the pattern is flawed. As members of STTI it is up to us to bring the thread together and continue to weave a nursing society that was started in 1922 when six nurses founded the organization. The goals of Mu Theta At Large chapter is stated in STTI's 2020 vision statement "to create a global community of nurses who lead in using knowledge, scholarship, service and learning to improve the health of the world's people."

Throughout the year out members have access to a multitude of opportunities of learning experiences within our chapter, other chapters and the ability to make a difference. Please consider sharing your time and talent with Mu Theta. Get involved and join. Congratulation:
Mu Theta-at-Large Chapter on the receipt of its 2nd Chapter Key Award presented at 41st Biennial Convention, Grapevine, Texas, 0ctober 29-November 2nd, 2011.

Congratulation to our scholarship recipients: Rachel Silva (Felician College), Jennifer S. Evans (St. Peter's College) and Artrice Ritchwood (College of Saint Elizabeth). Each awarded $1000.00 at the April 30th 2011 annual Induction Ceremony
